Signposting and Resources
At Matthew's Hub, we understand that finding and navigating services can be tricky. We have gathered some information and resources on this page which we hope parents and carers will find useful.
Accessing Autism and ADHD Assessments for Children Under 18
To access an assessment in Hull or the East Riding, the usual route is through your school SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator)
You will need to request a referral to the Neurodiversity Front Door Team and give examples of difficulties your child has with:
- Communication
- Social Interaction
- Need for routine
- Sensory Difficulties
For full information please visit the Neurodiversity Front Door Team website
Online Advice
Place 2 Be has dozens of great parenting advice articles geared around helping children 4-11 and discussing difficult topics. We really like the clear bitesize way the information is presented.
Through videos and numbered steps, this site provides advice on navigating emotions, habits and relationships.
Online Group Sessions
The Family Connections course is intended for family members or carers supporting someone with significant emotional dysregulation. The course is run by Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.
Their webpage contains a detailed leaflet explaining who this course may be suitable for. Please make sure you meet the criteria before completing the referral form.
