Overview and Feedback

Raising a neurodivergent child is rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming or isolating. At Matthew’s Hub, we understand that supporting an autistic or ADHD young person affects the whole family, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Our experienced parents’ team, who are all neurodivergent and parents themselves, offer personalised support to help families thrive. Through training, workshops, peer support, and socials - we’ll help you understand how a neurodiverse brain works and how to support your young person to reach their full potential.

We recommend that all parents and carers begin with our online Autism and ADHD introductory training for parents, carers and family of under 18s. This training is open to all. It's free for those living in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire. Find out more.

For those who are parents of Matthew's Hub members OR are members themselves, we have monthly peer support groups and parents' social events. Find out more.

Some services, such as our parents' workshops are only open to those referred by the Neurodiversity Front Door Service, or for members who were referred by the Humber Adult Autism Diagnostic Service. Find out more.

Feedback from Parents

Take a look at this workshop feedback from other parents who’ve attended our sessions and found support, connection, and understanding.

Thank you for running the course. It was good to meet you all there. I liked chatting about our life experiences and sharing and supporting each other in a small but important way. Thank you for the time and effort put into the course content and for the resources. It was a good atmosphere and very meaningful.

The workshop was great and I particularly liked the opportunities for parents to talk freely about their neurodivergent children. The handouts are also very useful as I tried to work through them during the program. It has been an enlightening experience.

It was nice to meet with parents that are having similar experiences to us and also learn new ways to help us. To recognise when we are getting over stimulated by the kids and vis versa.

We just wanted to say how much my partner and I both enjoyed the workshops we have been attending. We’ve both learnt so much from you and the course which will really help us in the long term, but we are already seeing some benefits with our approach to X. I am not a big fan of speaking in groups of people who I don’t know but you put me at ease and I felt comfortable to join in.
