New Sensory Processing Service!

Humber processing sensory hub

Many autistic people also have sensory processing difficulties. Their senses can be under or over-sensitive. Sometimes it can be both! This can be quite difficult in daily life, especially when we don’t know how to help ourselves and when to ask for help.

Unfortunately, access to occupational therapy may be difficult. Luckily, there is a lot of different strategies that autistic people or people with ADHD can implement in their life to make them more comfortable and manage this.

One place, where people with sensory processing difficulties can find help is the new Humber Sensory Processing Hub service! This is a specialist service providing support to children from Hull and East Riding, aged 0 -18 years old who have sensory processing difficulties.

On their website, you will read about the 8 sensory systems, have access to resources, and be able to implement relevant strategies at home and in the learning environment all without even leaving your home!

We encourage all parents/carers and autistic people to visit the website and learn more about sensory processing difficulties!

It is a good place to start your journey in the sensory world.
