Course overview

This is for staff who ARE patient or client facing, and who DO have direct contact with patients, clients or general public. Tier 2 is aimed at people with responsibility for providing care and support for people with a learning disability and is designed to introduce and develop delegates’ awareness of learning disability.

Oliver’s training is about awareness and understanding and does not include training about treatments or specific interventions. It will give staff the right knowledge and skills to ensure people with a learning disability have positive health and social care interactions.

It is co-designed and co-delivered by people with a learning disability and / or autism.

It can be delivered as a 1-day course, but also delivered as 2 half-day courses. The learning disability session is always delivered first.

Course content

Tier 2 consists of a full day of face-to-face training and is broken down into 2 sessions. Although Tier 2 can be delivered as two separate sessions if required.
