Youth Group (Members only)

Our online youth group is a great introduction to our social activities. It allows members join at their own pace within the comfort of their own home. It’s a space to hang out online and play games. The session is led by one of our Peer Mentors.

What happens during the sessions?

During the sessions, we play a variety of fun and interactive games, such as:

• Gartic Phone – a drawing game with a twist inspired by the classic ‘telephone’ or Chinese whispers
• skribbl.io – another fast-paced drawing game where high speed guesses and accurate drawings score the most points
• Among Us – a social deduction game full of strategy and deceit
• Codenames – a word association challenge where creative thinking can help lead your team operatives to victory

Another popular activity is the music listening sessions whereby a theme or word is announced in the email before the session. Attendees are invited to submit a song that fits the theme for the group to enjoy together.

This is a weekly event which takes place online on Monday evenings

Who can attend?

This group is for Matthew's Hub members aged 13 to 17

How many people attend? 

Between 8-15 people each week. This varies depending on each young person and how their day has been.

Do I have to have my camera on/talk? 

Communication is completely optional. You can choose whether to have your camera and microphone on/off. If you would like to communicate with the group without needing to speak, you can use the chat function to interact.

Sessions are held online via Microsoft Teams. Every Monday, we send an email with the link and details about the upcoming activity. Activities change weekly to keep things fresh and engaging.
