Parent and Carers: Transitions Workshop

At Matthew's Hub, one of our aims is to raise awareness of how best to support neurodivergent individuals and we do this through training and workshops.

Supporting Transitions at Every Stage. Transitions - big or small - can be overwhelming for neurodivergent young people. This workshop helps parents better understand transitions and learn how to support their child through life’s changes, including moving from school to college, university, or employment.

What you’ll learn:

This workshop is designed to help parents and carers:

  • Better understand what your child might struggle with as they transition from one stage of their life to the next
  • Better understand micro and macro transitions in everyday life and how to support your child
  • Help each other see what challenges face your child as they leave school and enter college/work/university
  • See how your child advances to adulthood from their perspective
  • Encourage and advise how best to help your child move to the next stage of their life
  • Contextualise the stress that neurodivergent children have moving from one thing to the next, and think of ways we can best support them

Who can attend?

Spaces are free for parents and carers of young people who are members of Matthew’s Hub, and members who are parents or carers themselves.
